PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION NOV 4 - REGISTER TO VOTE NOW!!!!
You have to register to vote in the State of Texas and you have to fill out an application. The application has to be received in the Voter Register's office or postmarked 30 days before the actual electon. You will also need identification. That means YOU have to complete the registration by Saturday Oct 4, 2008 ( Next Saturday) so that you vote in the next Presidential election. To be eligible to vote in Texas, any US citizen residing in Texas who is:
* At least 18 years old on Election Day
* Not a convicted felon (unless sentence, probation and/or parole are completed)
* Not declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law
You can get an voter registration application via the following:
* At any Department of Public Safety office when you are applying for or making changes to your driver license.
* At your county Voter Registrar's office. The Tax Assessor office in most Texas counties is also the Voters Registrar office.
* From the State of Texas Secretary of State office. You can download the form by going to www.sos.state.tx.us. Sometimes you can find applications at libraries, post offices, government offices, major grocery stores and high schools.
