Good news KISD football fans as KISD announced that ticket prices for all remailing 2008 varsity football games will be reduced from $10/ticket to $5/ticket for students and from $12/ticket to $10/ticket for adults. The District stated that the price reduction was due to receipt on unexpected money from the State of Texas and increased attendance particularly at Jr. Varsity games. Any price relief for fans will be welcomed especially in light of the fact that the mainly media induced recession is about to come down on everyones head!
This week district 17-5A has these games:
Katy (5-2,2-0) versus Katy Taylor ( 5-2,1-1) on Oct 23 ( Thursday) at Rhodes Stadium 7:00 PM - Katy which lost its first 2 games of the year has now won its last 5 games in a row after they thrashed Seven Lakes last week by the score of 54-14. So uch for the early season naysayers who predicted a bad football year for the Tigers! Taylor has a good team but look for Katy to be much too strong and win this gamer by a big margin. This game is being televised at 7:00PM by KTBU. Check your cable guide to see if your carrier has this station if you want to watch at home.
Cinco Ranch (6-1,2-0) versus Mayde Creek (4-2,1-1) on Oct 24 (Friday) at Rhodes Stadium 7:00 PM - Cinco Ranch right now is still the best team in this district and one of the best tems in the whole area. The big showdown for the district title I think will occur on Saturday Nov 8 when they play Katy. Maybe Creek has had a good season but believe will lose this game. Expect Cinco to run up big yardage totals and score a lot of points. Cinco should easily win this game but if they get over confident and read too many press clippings, Mayde Creek has the players and offense to win the game.
Seven Lakes (2-4, 0-2) versus Morton Ranch ( 5-2,0-2) on Oct 25 at Rhodes Stadium 5 PM - Unfortunately I think this is Seven Lakes only opportunity this year to a win a district game as they still have Cinco Ranch and Katy Taylor to play the remainder of the season and the odds of a win in either arevery slim. These two opponents played a non-distrct game after Hurricane IKE and Morton Ranch won by one point. My heart wants Seven Lakes to play good, not make silly mistakes and get penalized but my head tells me Morton Ranch will win in a tough game for both teams. There is always next season!
