KATY LIFE STYLE HOMES : HURRICANE SUPPLY KIT FOR GULF COAST RESIDENTS
On behalf of me and all of the other realtors at Prudential Gary Greene, we sincerely hope that NOT ONE hurricane finds its' way near our gulf coast shores this year or in the future. The hurricane season is upon us, so it is best to be prepared before an event is even on the radar screen.
We hope you'll stock up on this list of supplies so, come what may, you and your family remain as safe and comfortable as possible.
The Hurricane Supply Kit consists of: You will need provisions to carry you through a wek or more after a storm. Below are the most important items for your Supply Kit. Store if possible in a water-resistant container or trunks.
- Two weeks supply of prescriptions medicines
- Two weeks supply of non-perishable food
- Flashlights and batteries for each member of the family
- Mosquito repellent and citronella candles
- Sun Tan lotion, aspirin, Neosporin, mouth wash, tooth paste
- At least two coolers - one for food and one for ice and others for beer
- Toilet paper, paper towels, pre-moistened toweletts and flushable wipes
- Paper plates, plastic cups, and utensils
- Quiet games, books, playing cards and maybe a favorite toy(s)
- Important papers including insurance policies, property inventory and any special medical information
- Drinking water/containers
- Portable radio and extra batteries ( several sets)
- Battery operated clock
- First aid book and kit
- Non electric can opener
- If you have a propane grill extra filled propane consisters
- Plastic Trash bags
- Battery operated lantern - One for each member of the family
Remember these items before the storm hits: Cash, Gas, Charcoal, Wooden Matches, Ice, Maps, and GPS device
